Agespisa e Limpel são multadas em mais de R$ 100 mil por poluição ao Rio Guaridas
As empresas Águas e Esgotos do Piauí (AGESPISA) e LIMPEL- Serviços Gerais LTDA foram multadas em R$ 149.516,60 , acusadas de poluírem com efluentes líquidos e outros dejetos o Rio Guaribas. A decisão foi tomada após uma reunião do Conselho Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos (COMAM) realizada na manhã da última quarta-feira, 14.
A assessoria de imprensa da Secretaria de Meio Ambiente de Picos esclareceu que o processo foi aberto ainda em 2015 por meio de denúncia anônima. O ato acabou por provocar 15 dias de poluição hídrica acentuada e colocou em risco ainda a saúde pública de toda região de Aroerias do Matadouro, Boa Vista e Torrões.
“Por meio de denúncia anônima chegou a Secretaria de Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos a informação do despejo de efluentes líquidos, como outros dejetos de fossa na rede de abastecimento de esgotos do município, diretamente no leito do Rio Guaribas, Área de Preservação Permanente (APP) de acordo com o Código Ambiental do Município (Lei nº 2.497/2013)”, disse Crislene Carvalho, assessora da Secretaria de Meio Ambiente.
Por decisão da maioria dos votos do Conselho foi estabelecido que ambas seriam multadas com valor reduzido em 50%. A Agespisa fica obrigada a recolher ao Município o valor de R$ 99. 666.66 (noventa e nove mil seiscentos e sessenta e seis reais e sessenta e seis centavos) e a LIMPEL, a quantia de R$ 49.849,94 (quarenta e nove mil oitocentos e quarenta e nove reais e noventa e quatro centavos). Valores estes que serão revertidos ao Fundo Municipal de Meio Ambiente.
O outro lado
A empresa terceirizada LIMPEL alegou que é contratada pela AGESPISA apenas para executar os serviços descritos no contrato, e não teria interesse no derramamento de esgotos, e que por esta razão não poderia ser punida.
