O governador Wilson Martins assinou convênio para construção do Mercado do Produtor de Picos. A obra vai custar cerca de R$ 12 milhões. Desse valor, são 4 milhões do Tesouro Estadual, cerca de R$ 4 milhões da prefeitura local e R$ 4 milhões de emenda parlamentar.
A obra será executada pela Secretaria de Infraestrutura. Ao todo o mercado terá sete blocos, praça de alimentação, estacionamento e local para atividades artísticas. “Este mercado vai retirar todos os comerciantes que comercializam seus produtos nas ruas e vai beneficiar tanto os produtores quanto os consumidores”, diz a deputada estadual Tasmânia Medeiros (Belê), que participou da solenidade de assinatura do convênio, junto com Gilberto Medeiros (Emgerpi) e o prefeito Gil Paraibano.
O mercado vai funcionar no centro Picos e vai solucionar um problema antigo na cidade. O novo estabelecimento vai dar toda estrutura necessária aos comerciantes, comprados terão mais conforto na hora de comprar.
