Atletas picoenses conquistam medalhas no Campeonato Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu
Os atletas picoenses de Jiu-Jitsu conquistaram ótimos resultados no Campeonato Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu Profissional – GI / NOGI. A competição foi realizada nesse final de semana, no Ginásio da UNIFOR, em Fortaleza-Ceará.
A delegação picoense foi representada por seis competidores e conquistaram oito medalhas, sendo quatro de ouro, três de prata e uma de bronze. Os atletas representam a Equipe Nova União.
O professor Cristhan Devid, que ministra aulas na Academia Ideal, e seu aluno, João de Moura conquistaram três medalhas.
Cristhan Devid foi vice-campeão na categoria Faixa Marrom Médio – NOGI (modalidade sem kimono) e conquistou a medalha de prata. Já João de Moura foi campeão em duas modalidades, na categoria Faixa Branca Médio – NOGI (sem kimono) e na categoria Faixa Branca Médio – GI (com kimono), e conquistou duas medalhas de ouro.
Outros quatro competidores de Picos também da Equipe Nova União participaram da competição. Os atletas foram: o professor Marcos Bezerra e o professor Michel Coutinho com seus alunos Manoel Victor e Lucas Araújo.
Marcos Bezerra foi campeão na categoria Faixa Marrom Master Pesado – NOGI e Terceiro Lugar na Categoria Meio Pesado – GI (1 medalha de ouro e 1 medalha de bronze); Michel Coutinho foi vice-campeão na categoria Faixa Preta Master Médio – NOGI (1 medalha de prata); Manoel Victor foi campeão na categoria Faixa Azul Juvenil Leve – NOGI e vice-campeão na categoria Faixa Azul Juvenil Leve – GI (1 medalha de ouro e 1 medalha de Prata). Lucas Araújo perdeu na semifinal.
Para o professor Cristhan Devid, os lutadores picoenses estão num ótimo nível, até mesmo por já terem experiências e conquistas anteriores em campeonatos de nível internacional.
