Corpo de Leonardo chega a Picos e multidão se despede do ex-jogador
O corpo do ex-jogador Leonardo chegou à cidade de Picos na tarde desta quarta-feira, 02, por volta das 17h30min. Logo no aeroporto, centenas de amigos, familiares e admiradores de Leonardo se concentraram aguardando a chegada do corpo.
De lá, o corpo do ex-jogador seguiu em cortejo na viatura do Corpo de Bombeiros percorrendo as principais ruas de Picos, onde uma multidão de pessoas prestavam homenagens.
O velório está acontecendo neste momento na Câmara Municipal e segue até 7h desta quinta-feira (3), momento em que será feita a missa de corpo presente na Igreja Matriz e depois o sepultamento no Cemitério São Pedro de Alcântara.
Leonardo morreu aos 41 anos, na tarde da última terça-feira,01, por causa de complicações geradas pela neurocisticercose. A doença é uma infecção do sistema nervoso central provocada pela mal higienização de frutas e legumes.
O ex-jogador Naty, que jogou com Leonardo na Sociedade Esportiva, disse que o ídolo picoense era só alegria. “Ele me considerava como irmão e nos dávamos muito bem. Hoje o que resta é a lembrança desse cara espetacular”, relatou.
O prefeito Pe. Walmir declarou que Leonardo será lembrado para sempre na cidade de Picos. Segundo o gestor, o ex-jogador incentivava o esporte e hoje é inspiração de muitos garotos na cidade. “Nossos pêsames à família e o Leonardo será lembrando para sempre nas nossas memórias como um homem bom, humilde e que amava Picos”, pontuou.
