[ad#336×280]Um soldado do Exército identificado como Washington de Sousa Menezes, foi preso por assalto a uma residência de onde foi levado um notebook no bairro Ipueiras, em Picos. O fato aconteceu às 21h desta quarta-feira (25).
De acordo com o tenente coronel Wagner Torres, comandante do 4º Batalhão da Polícia Militar de Picos, Washington estava pilotando uma moto YBR de cor preta, com um primo, quando abordou uma família que estava na calçada de casa. O primo que estava na garupa desceu e roubou o notebook de um dos moradores que estava no local, foram feitos dois disparos durante o assalto, mas ninguém ficou ferido.
Durante a fuga, a dupla foi perseguida pela Força Tática quando caiu em uma rua sem saída e correu por um matagal que havia no local. As equipes da Força Tática se dividiram e enquanto uma perseguia a dupla pelo mato, a outra localizou a residência do acusado pela placa da moto abandonada no local, mas não conseguiu prender o acusado.
Cerca de meia hora depois ao chegar em casa, o próprio Washington ligou para a Polícia, denunciando um suposto roubo de sua moto. “Após o crime ele ligou dizendo que tinha sido furtado e que ele queria saber onde estava a moto. Os policiais muito perspicazes, desconfiaram da história e começaram a colher informações, fizeram várias perguntas e ele não soube responder, ficou nervoso e acabou confessando o crime”, explicou o coronel.
O acusado confessou que havia enterrado o notebook e levou os policiais até o local, onde o objeto foi recuperado. Washington informou ainda o endereço do primo, mas a Polícia, ainda não conseguiu localiza-lo. “É só uma questão de tempo. Estamos em busca, ele já foi identificado e logo deve ser preso”, informou Wagner Torres.
O 3º Batalhão de Engenharia de Construção do Exército, emitiu nota oficial, confirmando que o soldado foi preso e informa que ele ficará preso no local, à disposição da justiça.

Hoje por volta das 0:20 h, a polícia militar da cidade de Picos-PI entrou em contato com o 3º Batalhão de Engenharia de Construção (3º BEC), informado que o Sd EB Washington de Sousa Meneses, havia sido conduzido; por volta das 23:30 h do dia anterior, para a central de flagrantes da cidade de Picos, por ter sido autuado por assalto a mão armada.
O militar foi transferido para a prisão do 3º BEC, onde ficará à disposição da Justiça.
