Mais de 100 mil kg de peixes morreram nessa última semana na barragem de Bocaina, deixando preocupados pescadores e responsáveis pelo criatório.
Os responsáveis pelo local ainda não tem uma explicação exata para o fenômeno, mas acredita-se que as mortes dos peixes podem ter sido causadas pelas baixas temperaturas das águas associadas ao baixo nível de água em que se encontra a barragem.
A quantidade de oxigênio dissolvida na água é medida em miligramas por litro (mg/L). Essa medida é influenciada por fatores físicos e biológicos, entre eles a temperatura.
A água gelada é capaz de condicionar mais oxigênio, devido ao gás ser menos volátil. Consequentemente, a concentração do oxigênio dissolvido é maior nos meses frios, a região de constante clima quente, enfrente nesse mês de junho, principalmente à noite temperaturas mais baixas, e essa combinação pode ter sido a principal causa da morte dos peixes, o engenheiro de pesca do criatório vai recolher amostras de peixes, água e solo para serem submetidos a analise, além dos peixes do criatório, foram encontrados também ao longo da barragem centenas de peixes mortos.
Fonte de sustento para muitas pessoas da região, existem na barragem cerca de 600 tanques de criação de tilápia, que também tem sentido a força da seca. A situação é muito preocupante a curto e longo prazo, segundo os pescadores.
Segundo João Bernardes, um dos responsáveis pelo local, os prejuízos ainda são incalculáveis, e já somam em torno de 100 mil kg de peixes mortos, esse peixes estão sendo recolhido e transportados diariamente desde segunda feira (10) para um aterro particular.
