O que você está fazendo agora? É algo que você realmente ama? Essa é uma questão fundamental na vida de qualquer trabalhador, principalmente se nos referimos a alguém que tem como objetivo se tornar servidor do Executivo, do Legislativo ou do Judiciário, por meio da aprovação em concurso público. Até porque, neste exato momento, milhões de pessoas estão fazendo exatamente o que as torna felizes, da maneira que as torna felizes.

A forma como trabalhamos recebe influência direta de nossas tendências e comportamentos na sociedade. Por exemplo, se hoje algumas coisas nos parecem muito novas, diferentes de tudo a que estávamos acostumados, é bom saber que há quem entenda bem essa realidade: os jovens da geração conhecida como Geração Y. Boletim do Ministério do Planejamento divulgado recentemente informa que, na última década, 40% das pessoas que tomaram posse em cargos públicos federais tinham entre 18 e 29 anos, ou seja, eram todas dessa geração, nascidas nas décadas de oitenta e noventa.

Vamos esmiuçar esse tema, que, para você, candidato a concurso público, é da maior importância e pode ajudá-lo a alcançar sua meta. Os membros da Geração Y representam a nova força de trabalho global e têm grandes aspirações. Metade deles já possui ou planeja montar o próprio negócio, e a mentalidade digital, líquida e coletiva que lhes é característica já tem causado impacto no modo como trabalhamos.

Parece complicado, mas não é. Na verdade, é tudo muito simples. Para entendermos melhor, recuemos um pouco no tempo, algumas décadas, para ser mais preciso. Manter as coisas simples era o lema de trabalho dos Baby Boomers nos anos sessenta e setenta. Para quem nunca ouviu falar nessa expressão inglesa, explico: Baby Boomers significa Explosão de Bebês e se refere aos filhos da Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939/1945), já que, logo após aquele conflito, houve uma explosão de nascimentos na Europa e nos Estados Unidos. Nascidos entre 1943 e 1964, os Baby Boomers viveram a juventude nas décadas de sessenta e setenta e acompanharam de perto as mudanças culturais e sociais desse período.

As regras eram mais claras naquela época. O espaço de trabalho limitava-se ao escritório, as responsabilidades eram individualizadas e específicas, e o trabalhador sabia a hora certa de começar e de terminar o expediente. Naquele tempo, após duas guerras mundiais (a primeira foi entre 1914 e 1918), as instituições representavam a estabilidade que todos desejavam. Por isso, fazia todo sentido vestir a camisa da empresa e responder bem às estruturas lineares e hierárquicas.

Mas o problema para o jovem do pós-guerra é que a escolha de uma carreira representava uma decisão para o resto da vida. Os mais velhos ensinavam os mais novos, pois eram os anos na empresa que levavam ao crescimento na organização. Ter um emprego garantia status social: era o primeiro passo para o casamento e um filho nove meses depois. O trabalho não se misturava com a vida pessoal. Nada de hora extra em casa! Mas os Baby Boomers trabalhavam muito, e isso tinha a ver com disciplina e honra. Sacrifícios diários garantiam o sustento da família, e eles sabiam que a grande recompensa viria, mesmo que demorasse um pouco.

A seguir, veio a Geração X, de nascidos entre o início dos anos sessenta e os primeiros anos da década de oitenta, que redefiniu a relação de tempo entre trabalho e recompensa. Superconfiantes, extrovertidos, competitivos e dispostos a tudo para ter um rápido crescimento, esses caras estavam sempre buscando melhores propostas. Uma ideia lucrativa podia facilmente colocá-los na chefia, com base na meritocracia, e não na experiência.

Procurando formas de se destacar pessoalmente e ser mais independentes, a turma da Geração X dependia de diplomas, MBAs e PHDs para sair na frente dos concorrentes. Nessa lógica mais individualista, um bom guarda-roupa e um cartão de visitas ajudavam a fechar negócios e expandir os contatos. Estar no lugar certo na hora certa era o que definia a carga horária. O espaço de trabalho foi estendido para happy hour (fim de tarde ou início da noite), e essa mistura da esfera pessoal com a profissional tornou o workaholic (viciado em trabalho) alguém admirável. E até sexy. Nesse ambiente extremamente competitivo, o vencedor era quem chegasse à diretoria no menor tempo possível, quando, então, poderia gozar imediatamente do prazer proporcionado por suas conquistas.

Hoje, a jornada é um pouco diferente. Os Millennials, aqueles garotos imprevisíveis nascidos entre 1980 e 2000, netos dos Baby Boomers, são quem melhor traduze esse novo olhar. Em um tempo onde o prazer determina a realização profissional, eles sabem como ninguém reconhecer oportunidades que combinam paixão com trabalho. Estão familiarizados ao conceito de economia criativa e cientes das novas profissões, do boom do empreendedorismo e da nova força coletiva. Com tudo isso, estão pintando um cenário inédito e brilhante.

Por isso, os Millennials são tão impacientes! Os concurseiros que hoje enchem as salas de aula dos cursinhos são assim, autênticos Millennials da segunda década do século XXI, que estamos vivendo todos – e não apenas eles – com tanta intensidade. Um mundo maravilhoso, altamente tecnológico, com recursos inimagináveis há pouco mais de dez anos, em que o futuro previsto nos livros de ficção científica parece já ter chegado.

A velocidade com que esses jovens se conectam com o mundo determina o ritmo em suas relações de trabalho. Projetos que só farão diferença no longo prazo simplesmente não os estimulam. Além disso, eles precisam de feedback (retorno de informação) constante para sentir que seus esforços estão valendo a pena. A pirâmide empresarial tradicional não combina com esses jovens ansiosos, entusiasmados por trabalhar com outras gerações, mas em um relacionamento de igual para igual, com respeito mútuo. É uma questão de trocar conhecimentos, não importa a idade. Até porque os Millennials têm o poder de descobrir as coisas sozinhos. É natural para eles diversificar os canais e buscar meios informais de educação, em vez de apenas um curso de faculdade. No fim, comprometimento profissional não é apenas uma convenção, e sim algo que surge de forma natural de suas experiências.

Além de um emprego, tornou-se importante ter um propósito, o que pode ser exercido de várias formas ao mesmo tempo. Mobilidade, espaços compartilhados, home offices (escritórios em casa) e a possibilidade de criar o próprio horário tornam o trabalho sempre presente, em qualquer momento, em todos os lugares.

Por essa razão, pessoas com diferentes estilos têm mais liberdade para exercitar seus talentos e até os mais introvertidos podem transformar ideias em negócios milionários. Você pode ficar de pijamas, desde que mantenha atualizado e atraente o seu perfil on-line.

Como se pode ver, flexibilidade é o caminho a seguir. Millennials e as novas gerações de servidores, egressos dos concursos públicos, são fascinados por projetos em andamento e se sentem motivados ao aprender novas modalidades. Têm entusiasmo pelo mundo aberto, onde interferir e testar algo inacabado é o único jeito de criar o novo. Precisam, mais do que nunca, se sentir autônomos e adoram o desafio de participar e criar em colaboração. Podem mudar de direção com rapidez e desapego, vivendo melhor o presente sem a ilusão de que podem controlar o futuro. A explicação é simples: quem se adapta melhor pode evoluir com as mudanças.

Se o amigo concurseiro se sente impressionado por tudo isso e está procurando a resposta certa, vou lhe fazer uma pergunta: você está fazendo o que ama neste exato momento? Não?

Então comece!
“Caia dentro”, como diz a gíria. Se está estudando quatro horas por dia, estude oito. Dê tudo o que pode, o melhor de si, não importa que sacrifícios tenha de fazer, pois o relógio esta correndo e sua vida está com pressa. Descubra o propósito de sua vida e faça acontecer, tornando-se um dos aprovados no próximo concurso em que se inscrever. Acha que é fácil falar, pois pimenta só arde nos olhos dos outros? Errado! Eu falo porque sei por experiência própria como a pimenta arde, já que estudei e fui aprovado em oito concursos públicos, antes de me tornar um empreendedor do ramo.

Por isso, não tenho pena de ninguém que diz estar sofrendo de tanto estudar para passar em concurso. Tenho é orgulho de todos, porque sei que acabarão alcançando seu objetivo. E quem não começou a estudar, que trate de fazê-lo agora mesmo, porque há milhares de vagas abertas em todo o País, para quem sonha com a estabilidade do emprego público, com salários que podem chegar a R$ 21,7 mil.

Então, está esperando o quê, cara-pálida? Amar o seu trabalho vai colocar você em movimento. É o único jeito de viver uma vida plena. Todos os dias. E saiba que a vitória pertence a quem acredita nela, e por mais tempo. Esses serão os concurseiros que daqui a pouco estarão comemorando o seu FELIZ CARGO NOVO!
