Desde adolescente que o filho de seu Expedito assistia audiência do Tribunal do Júri Um caso interessante de decisão vocacional fomos buscar na história do advogado da cidade de Santa Cruz, Herval Ribeiro que hoje desponta na área criminalista na região de Picos, com grande ascensão social e vitórias em sua concorrida carreira na advocacia.
Filho do topiqueiro Expedito Francisco Ribeiro e da dona de casa Maria dos Remédios Sousa, Herval Ribeiro nasceu na cidade de Santa Cruz e em seguida , com apenas um ano de idade foi morar com os pais no Estado de São Paulo. Lá cursou até a 8ª série. No ano de 1993 retornou à sua cidade natal onde concluiu o ensino médio. No ano de 1999 ingressou no curso de direito da Universidade Federal da Paraíba e começou a concretizar um sonho que vinha desde adolescência.
O pai de Herval trabalhava fazendo o transporte de passageiros de Santa Cruz para a cidade de Picos, dando duas viagens por dia , isso era tudo que o jovem Herval queria, ele aproveita para vir na primeira viagem a cidade de Picos e ficava no fórum assistindo as audiências e só retornava na segunda viagem do pai.
O seu destino parecia está traçado, pois aquelas audiências no Tribunal do Júri o despertou para a advocacia. No ano de 2004 Herval Ribeiro consegue sua aprovação no exame de ordem-OAB e a partir daí passou a colecionar vitórias importante da advocacia projetando seu nome na área do direito penal. Em 2006 ingressou na docência ministrando aula no curso de direito da Faculdade R.sá e mais tarde no ano de 2009 assumiu a coordenação de curso. Hoje já bastante famoso pela sua atuação na área penal. Casado com Debora Carvalho que é bacharel em direito, Herval Ribeiro tem como metas fazer mestrado e doutorado em direito.
No dia 08 de fevereiro data em que comemorou seu aniversário recebeu o carinho dos colegas de trabalho que cantaram os parabéns.
