[ad#336×280]O fim da tarde para o inicio da noite deste domingo (1) foi marcado pela morte de três jovens, vítimas de acidentes de trânsito em Picos. As três vítimas eram residentes do bairro São José. Ambos estavam conduzindo motocicletas.
O primeiro acidente aconteceu por volta das 14h30 na PI 238, que liga Picos ao município de Bocaina, na altura do bairro Ipueiras, na entrada do bairro Morro da Macambira. Segundo informações da PM, o casal Maurício de Sousa Costa, 26 anos e Walquíria de Moura Silva, 22 anos iam em direção ao Morro da Macambira em uma motocicleta Broz, cor preta e placa NIX-1479, quando colidiram de frente com uma caminhonete F-250, de cor azul e placa não identificada.
Walquíria veio a óbito a caminho do Hospital Regional Justino Luz. Ela residia na Rua Dom Expedito Lopes no bairro São José e seu corpo está velado no povoado Torrões, onde será sepultado à tarde. Já o militar do 3º Batalhão de Engenharia e Construção (BEC) Mauricio quebrou uma das pernas. O condutor da caminhonete evadiu-se do local.
Outro acidente com vítimas fatais aconteceu na PI 379 que liga Picos a cidade de Aroeiras do Itaim por volta das 19h30 na altura do povoado Pitombeira. De acordo com o capitão PM Sousa, as duas motocicletas colidiram de frente e mais três pessoas morreram no acidente, sendo o casal Francisco Édpu Pereira, de 21 anos e Maria Francisca Ferreira, 24 anos e o mototaxista Givanildo Alberto de Moura que conduzia a outra motocicleta.
Assim como a jovem Walquíria, o casal também será sepultado no povoado Torrões.
