Corso abre o Carnaval de Picos 2016
O tradicional corso de Picos “Zé Pereira” reuniu uma multidão de foliões na noite desta sexta-feira, 05, no Centro da cidade. O desfile de carros decorados para a festa do Momo marca oficialmente a abertura do Calor e Folia 2016. Ao todo, 38 carros participaram do Corso, onde muitos esbanjavam o colorido da festa carnavalesca, e a criatividade de seus idealizadores.
A concentração dos carros foi na Rua São Sebastião, Centro de Picos. Do local os veículos percorreram as principais vias da cidade chegando à Rua Monsenhor Hipólito, próximo a Praça de Alimentação, para a escolha do carro mais enfeitado e criativo.

Seis jurados escolheram os três carros vencedores: 1º lugar- Turma do Camarote que recebeu a premiação de R$ 1. 500,00, 2º lugar – Resenha em Veneza que recebeu R$ 1.000.00, e em 3º lugar – Galo da Madrugada que recebeu R$ 500,00.
Acompanhado do deputado federal Assis Carvalho, o prefeito de Picos, Padre Walmir Lima esteve presente no Corso e destacou que o número de carros inscritos superou os anos anteriores. O gestor lembrou ainda que o carnaval picoense será custeado por emendas parlamentares, a custo zero da prefeitura. “Apesar da crise o povo merece uma festa de carnaval e fizemos parcerias para fazer a festa e alegrar os picoenses “, destacou.
Animação
Após a escolha dos carros mais enfeitados os foliões pularam ao som das atrações locais T Brothers e Robson Farra, que cantaram os principais hits do Carnaval.
Segurança
A Policia Militar montou um forte aparato de segurança para evitar registros de violência durante a festa carnavalesca. A noite de ontem seguiu sem ocorrências graves. Além disto, durante as noites de Carnaval o Conselho Tutelar de Picos também vai intensificar as fiscalizações junto aos barraqueiros para evitar a venda de bebidas alcoólicas à menores.
