[ad#336×280]O município de Santana do Piauí tem vivido nos últimos meses uma situação inédita, o agravamento dos problemas na segurança pública.
Dessa forma, alarmados com a onda de assaltos na PI-375, que liga ao município de Picos, e alguns casos acontecidos no interior do município, as autoridades locais, resolveram solicitar a realização de uma audiência pública para debater essas questões. A audiência está prevista para acontecer na sede do PETI, a partir das 18h00 da quarta-feira, 27.
O pedido partiu da Câmara Municipal, requerimento solicitado pelo vereador Francisco Borges (PSB), presidente do legislativo, e acatado pelo prefeito Ricardo José Gonçalves, que desde cedo manifestou apoio à medida. Além das autoridades locais e da população, são muito esperadas a participação do comandante do 4° Batalhão de Polícia Militar tenente coronel Wagner Torres e do comandante do GPM de Santana do Piauí 2° sargento Raimundo Alves.
O prefeito Ricardo José Gonçalves, preocupado com a situação, já esteve reunido com o coronel Wagner Torres pedindo medidas imediatas para que a população possa voltar a se sentir segura, uma vez que a tranquilidade sempre foi uma das marcas registradas de Santana do Piauí. Mesmo sendo uma responsabilidade do governo estadual, o prefeito tem buscado atuar junto aos órgãos competentes.
Santana do Piauí tem sido muito visitada nos finais de semana, por pessoas de Picos e região, especialmente nos domingos, no período vespertino. Esse aumento no fluxo de pessoas tem ocasionado alguns transtornos, como acidentes na sinuosa PI-375, rodovia extremante perigosa. A população espera um aumento do policiamento na cidade.
